Our Journals

National Year of Reading

National Year of Reading

National Year of Reading

With 2026 placing a special focus on reading across the UK, we saw the perfect opportunity to encourage people to 'Go All In' and engage with books in a more thoughtful and enjoyable way. Our journals were created to help readers reflect on their reading experiences, track their thoughts, and build a stronger connection with books, turning reading into something more personal and rewarding.

Sustainability

Sustainability is a vital aspect of our project, and we strive to be mindful in how our products are crafted. Our sustainable journals feature front covers made from recycled materials, specifically curtain tester sheets sourced from a local company. This approach not only gives these materials a new purpose, preventing waste, but also contributes to unique experiences and long-lasting utilisation.

Each sustainable journal comes with a calendar that allows you to easily track the year, along with a weekly planner for more in-depth organization. With dedicated pages to review the books you read this year, this journal encourages you to delve into book exploration. Don’t forget to add the titles you’ve read to your bookshelf at the back of the journal!

Each journal is fitted with a QR code to take you right back to our book reviews, where you can share your thoughts too!

Selling Opportunities

How to Maximise Your Usage

Teaching Opportunities

So far, we have had the opportunity to sell our sustainable journals at a local Christmas fair, which gave us valuable experience in presenting our products to customers. It allowed us to receive direct feedback, see how people interacted with our journals, and build confidence in sharing our idea. This experience has been an important first step in growing our project, understanding our audience, and enhancing our book recommendations based on their reading experiences.

Teaching Opportunities

We are excited to work with younger students at local primary schools, creating activities that inspire them to read and explore their creativity. Through these sessions, students will have the chance to redesign their favourite book covers, reflecting on stories that interest them and expressing their ideas in unique ways.  Our goal is to make reading fun, hands-on, and personal, while encouraging a lifelong love of books and creative expression.

Cutting The Fabrics

Stack of white spiral-bound notebooks on a wooden table.

Our sustainable journals are printed by a UK-based printer, ensuring high production quality while supporting local businesses. This commitment allows us to carefully control the design, layout, and finish of each journal before it reaches us.

Once printed, we prepare the covers of our sustainable journals by cutting our recycled fabrics to size. Each piece is carefully measured and trimmed, making every journal slightly different and completely unique.

The fabric is then securely glued onto the covers by hand. This final step brings everything together, transforming each journal into a finished product that is both durable and distinctive, perfect for capturing your ideas.
