Our Journals

National Year of Reading

National Year of Reading

National Year of Reading

With 2026 placing a special focus on reading across the UK, we saw the perfect opportunity to encourage people to 'Go All In' and engage with books in a more thoughtful and enjoyable way. Our reading journals were created to help readers reflect on what they read, track their experiences, and build a stronger connection with books, turning reading into something more personal and rewarding.

Sustainability

Sustainability is an important part of our project, and we aim to be mindful in the way our products are made. The front covers of our journals are created using recycled materials that were originally curtain tester sheets from a local company, giving them a new purpose instead of going to waste, creating something practical, unique, and long-lasting.

Each journal comes with a calendar for you to easily track the year, with a weekly planner for more in depth organisation. With pages to review books you read this year, this journal pushes you to explore the world of reading. Don't forget to add the books you read to your bookshelf at the back of the journal!

Teaching Opportunities

So far, we have had the opportunity to sell our journals at a local Christmas fair, which gave us valuable experience in presenting our products to customers. It allowed us to receive direct feedback, see how people interacted with our journals, and build confidence in sharing our idea. This experience has been an important first step in growing our project and understanding our audience.

Teaching Opportunities

We are excited to work with older students at local primary schools, creating activities that inspire them to read and explore their creativity. Through these sessions, students will have the chance to redesign their favourite books, reflecting on stories that interest them and expressing their ideas in unique ways. Our goal is to make reading fun, hands-on, and personal, while encouraging a lifelong love of books.

Covering The Journals

Cutting The Fabrics

Our journals are printed by a UK-based printer, ensuring high production quality while supporting local businesses. This allows us to carefully control the design, layout, and finish of each journal before it reaches us.

Cutting The Fabrics

Once printed, we prepare the covers by cutting our recycled fabrics to size. Each piece is carefully measured and trimmed, making every journal slightly different and completely unique.

The fabric is then securely glued onto the covers by hand. This final step brings everything together, transforming each journal into a finished product that is both durable and distinctive.
